SYRAH…France (Languedoc) December 2016
Alc./vol:13.5% /Body:  Medium-Full / Sweetness: Dry
I tasted black berry fruit, with peppery notes. It is very different from Australian Shiraz; it has a much dryer finish, with more complex flavours.  It was excellent with pepper steak, but also pairs well with hard mature cheeses.
 
RIESLING… Australia (Clare Valley) January 2017
Alc. /vol: 12%/ Body: Medium/ Sweetness:  Off dry
I loved this delicate white wine.  I found that it was light in body, with citrus and mineral notes.  It will be great with seafood, salty appetizers and just plain drinking!!  Best enjoyed young; therefore perfect for Spring and Summer.
NERO D’AVOLA…Italy (Sicily) January 2017
Alc. /vol:  14%/ Body:  Full/ Sweetness:  Dry
If you like Amarone or California Zinfandel (Red), you will love this wine!  I found it to be medium to full body with low acidity.  It is very fruit forward and will go perfectly with rich meat, stews and burgers.
CABERNET SAUVIGNON ROSE…California (Sacramento County) February 2017
Alc. /vol:  13%/ Body:  Medium/ Sweetness:  Dry
You will drink this wine quickly.  It did not have any tannin, yet it was nice and dry.  I found it very refreshing.  It does not need a pairing, but it plays well with turkey burgers, Greek salad and light summer dishes.
KOOKABURRA RED…Australia (Riverland Region)
Alc. /vol:14.5%/Body:  Full/ Sweetness:  Dry
This wine is a blend of Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro; or as our customers know (GSM).  It is the BIG ONE!! of the Passport Series.  It has raspberry, blackberry and baking spice flavours. Drink alongside braised meat, grilled lamb and tomato based dishes.
RESTRICTED QUANTIES 2017
I haven’t showcased RQ wines for a few years because the quality was not comparable to the Passport Series.  I have tested them myself over the past two years, and I am very pleased to offer them again this year.  RJS Craft Wine Making has an amazing selection for 2017.  They are all from France, which always translates into fantastic wine.

Most of you know these grapes, so if you like them…make them!  I find the red wines may require a little more aging, but they are worth it!

Remember you only need to pre-order not pre-pay. They must be paid when you start your wine.  Order 4 or more PASSPORT or RQ and save $15.00 on each wine.  We have brochures in the store, so please stop in and pick one up.  You will impress even the biggest wine snob with these wines.
